we are honoured to participate Under the Patronage of the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), that 300+ Attendees and 10+ Partners in the Industrial Sector gathered in Cairo for the 10th Edition of the International Sustainable Industrial Areas (SIA) Conference Industry is essential to both social and economic progress and implementing sustainable practices and measures exacerbates this progress to the industries and the economy at large. GIZ Egypt in partnership with the World Bank Group and UNIDO, organised the SIA International Conference and brought together experts from all over the world to discuss recent trends, best practices, and future development of SIA. Prior to the conference, participants had the opportunity to take part in a field visit to four different industrial parks. The purpose of this visit was to gain a better understanding of sustainability-oriented interventions and provide advice in this regard. During the conference, attendees were treated to an array of engaging presentations, panel discussions and workshops, all of which were centered around the theme of “Strengthening Regional Industrial Competitiveness and Economic Resilience”. The conference brought together national and foreign governments, business owners, developers, operators and tenants of industrial parks and areas, industrial chambers and associations, national and international key actors and resource persons related to industrial areas and climate change, as well as financial institutions. The SIA International Conference is organised by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) under the “Invest for Jobs” programme as part of the special initiative “Decent Work for a Just Transition” (SI Jobs) implemented on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It is held in partnership with the World Bank Group, the United Nations, the Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Egyptian Ministry of Trade & Industry (MTI) and the Industrial Development Authority of Egypt (IDA).
